Remedy Entertainment, in close collaboration with Rockstar Games, is all set to remake the two initial versions of the Max Payne game. It revealed the plan on Wednesday, 6th April, that Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, will see a remake made out of two together with the single title.

According to the Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, “We were thrilled when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about remaking the original Max Payne games.” He added, “We are massive fans of the work the Remedy team has created over the years, and we can’t wait to play these new versions.”

Remedy Entertainment’s proprietary Northlight Engine technology is proposed to be used in Max Payne’s two games remakes. The same technology has already been used in Control is will be supporting the most anticipated Alan Wake 2. Meanwhile, the development budget of the remakes is currently in the hands of Rockstar Games, which will supposedly be as large as usual in Remedy Entertainment’s AAA-game production.

Similar to Alan Wake 2, the same kind of remakes may be exclusively available for current-generation hardware. They may include the availability on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and PS5. No PS4 or Xbox One versions.

Further, the CEO of Remedy Entertainment, Tero Virtala says that Max Payne holds a special place in the hearts of the Remedy team, including the gamers around the world. He added that the team is excited about the collaboration with Rockstar Games to revive the game once again, and reanimate the entire setting, plot, and action of the original Max Payne games to let the players live their memories of years ago, in new ways.

The game is still in its concept development stage and may take longer than expected to release in the remake form. Also, the release date for Alan Wake 2 is still not available. However, the Remedy’s commitment to release it for Windows 2023 may be taken as a hint for 2023 as its releasing year.
